Let’s dance in your Care Home.

There are several health benefits of dancing amongst older people, and at All Steps First Dance, our dedicated dance teachers can facilitate this in your home.

Why book a dance class with us?

  1. Better Cognition

Dancing is a brain workout too! Research shows that 1-2 hours of dancing per week can improve cognitive skills. The memorising of steps and the focus required result in increased brain activity, promoting better cognitive function.

  1. Energy Levels WILL INCREASE!

Dancing definitely has the feel good factor! It stimulates the production of those happy hormones, such as serotonin and endorphins, making you more energised.

  1. Increased Flexibility

Dance can help you avoid other injuries by keeping your joints loose and enabling more movement with less physical discomfort.

  1. INCREASED Strength

Dancing requires your muscles to resist your body weight and therefore increase muscle strength. And the more you dance, the more you are able to move in life!

  1. Improved Bone Health

Dancing enhances bone strength because it increases bone mass.

  1. IMPROVED Cardiovascular Health

We offer low-impact cardio dance classes in our residential and care homes but this produces many of the same heart and pulmonary benefits as traditional cardio exercises.

7. Enhanced Agility

As we age, we tend to lose the ability to move quickly and easily. Dancing helps you regain some of that agility.

  1. Decreased Stress

Dance can help you de-stress as you are focusing on a nice activity whilst releasing endorphins. Additionally, music can soothe you, inspire you, and even help you feel nostalgic and bring back happy memories from your youth.

  1. Improved Balance

Dance requires you to use balance as you move, step, and turn. Your base of support changes with each movement, and your brain and body respond by enhancing your ability to adjust and maintain your balance.

  1. HELPS WITH Weight Management

Dancing provides a whole-body workout that results in calorie burn.

  1. Boosted Confidence

Dance can improve your physical, mental, emotional, and social health. With all that going for you, you are bound to feel more confident about yourself and the world around you.

  1. More Opportunities for Social Interaction and connections

Dancing and listening to music are great social activities. The connection you build with people when you’re dancing with them or alongside them is so beneficial and can help eliminate feelings of loneliness and isolation that older people sometimes feel.

Our sessions are 11-11.45am or 2-2.45pm and they cost the following:
